Lido di Venezia in Italian, means beach. And on the Lido the beach is wide, gently descending towards the Adriatic Sea, never unduly crowded because it is distributed along the 10 Km length of the island.

The island of the Lido, the most exclusive location of the Venetian estuary, is a long, narrow area of land between the Sea and the Lagoon, immersed in History, Art and Nature.

The Lido is known worldwide for its Liberty architecture, its shady pines, its gardens and its tree lined streets, its famous golden beaches; and also because it is the centre of the International Film Festival of Venice.

The Lido offers the possibility of enjoying life on a tranquil island just 10 minutes from the magical suggestions of Venice. It is the ideal point of departure in discovering the wonders of the Lagoon thus avoiding the crowds of mass tourism.

Respect for Nature is of prime importance and, in fact, the beaches have been assigned the Blue European Flag. The natural Oasis of the Dunes at the Alberoni, protected by the WWF, is just one amongst the many activities offered.

The Lido can be reached easily by car with the ferry boat which leaves from the Tronchetto island, or by the ferries which leave from Piazzale Roma and from the Railway Station of Venice.

A direct service of fast ferries from the airport to the island is available.

The Lido also has:

It is also possible to rent bicycles on the island and take an interesting tour of it.
